Imagery as Design Ethos

P r o f e s s i o n a l  P r a c t i c e s -

My work is
personal & reflective
Apart of my design process is to
look inward
drawing on
responsive emotion,
individual experiences
or values.

To me, fashion is theatre.
The form is exaggerated and dramatic.
I don't design something unless
it screams.

More IS more.
Put one more thing on
don't take it off.

To me,
the most fascinating
thing about fashion
is its role in human identity
and paradoxically,
superficiality.

Therein lays the notion
of masking,
protecting,
armouring.
And layering.

A lot of ideas are
packed tightly
into
my work.
Never simple.
Minimalism feels difficult.

Fashion needs to tell a story or
portray a character.
Perhaps as an exploration
of self.

Colour is very
important to me.
Unusual combinations
and courageous print.

Colour
is the primary
way to categorise.
Taking precedence over
any other element as
a justification
to combine
textiles and clashing
conventions.
